Ideas for Arc XP

Canonical URL service | removeWords with option to keep numbers

We have configured our story URLs in the URL service to use removeWords. We would like an option that mimics removeWords, but retains numbers. Our NBA team is called the "76ers" -- we can't use that in our URLs AND use the removeWords functionality in URL service because "76ers" becomes "ers."

Other use cases for these particular combination include listicle type stories, which typically include numbers and/or dates. Ex: 10 family-friendly events to do in or around Philadelphia - October 15th

This is now implemented, although you need to adjust your URL format settings in URL Service to take advantage of this feature:

Please also include in "Remove Words" a backup for letters with symbols.  For example, if you have a URL of philly.com/news/para-los-niños-organization-shuts-down, it will strip out the accented letter entirely.  So you will end up with nios instead of niños.  It would be preferable if "Remove Words" replaced the accented letter with the simple letter, ninos.
