We are wanting to work with some content providers that require us to be able to set the Canonical URL to their originating URL, not our Arc URL. So when we ingest content from these vendors we need to be able to map their URL to the canonical URL field, but still allow for the full article to display on our websites at our Arc article URL.
We need to ensure that the SEO value of the original content isn't inadvertently hurt by identical versions of the content being published on various websites.
The canonical URL should be able to populate the <link rel="canonical" href="https://example.com/canonial-URL-here/" /> in the <head> of the article.
This may be related to SB-I-196 so there is a field in Composer to define this data.
Thanks for your idea. Currently the ANS spec restricts Canonical URL to be relative to Arc only.
