We recently came across an issue whereby a graphic uploaded to photocenter contained a hidden special character in the caption field. This image resolved without issue everywhere except in OBF where it proceeded to break our feeds resulting in a number of our newsletters failing to send.
OBF should be able to handle, or strip out, these characters and resolve correctly.
For background: the rogue character was introuced when a caption was copied and pasted directly from Adobe Illustrator into photocenter. Once there the rogue character only appeared as a blank space and was therefore extremely difficult to track down as the issue breaking the feeds.
Thanks Denise, Jenae..
Hello, we have shipped OBF 1.15 which has updated handling of invalid UTF characters (including the backspace). Thank you for providing examples and all of your input to help ship this idea. Release notes can be viewed here.
Hi Luke, Arnstein. Thank you for the idea. I was hoping we could strip the rogue characters upon save, but it looks like we'll need to strip them out downstream in OBF. I'll add this to the OBF backlog and update here when I know release timing. Thanks!
trying upload instead
That did not work, trying again

Yes! We also have this problem in several occations, not only in caption but also in body text. The character causing the problem seems to be the \b backspace
character, that for some reason is added to articles. We would like to NOT have to handle this ourselves, please fix
