Wire photos and staff-produced photos are ingested into Photo center through feeds. These images contain IPTC and XMP metadata, either provided by the wire source or embedded by staff photographers. Photo editors are required to modify this metadata in cases of:
Correction requests from wire providers
Internal errors or corrections
Legal and compliance requirements
Since these images are directly syndicated and also distributed through article syndication, it is critical that metadata is accurate and up-to-date in the photo binary.
Metadata Editing
Provide full support for editing all IPTC and XMP metadata fields within Photo center.
Metadata Persistence
Ensure that edited metadata is saved back into the photo binary itself (not just stored in image records).
Version Control
Maintain a complete version history of all image updates.
Version history must be accessible and viewable for every image to provide traceability of changes.
Resizer Integration: Support propagation of IPTC/XMP metadata into resized derivative images used on websites and apps. This is desirable but not a mandatory requirement.
