Since featured images (the ones that are starred) for galleries are used in a plethora of places (social, Apple News, feed driven flex features, etc), photo editors need a way to indicate from what point the featured photo should be cropped. Currently, if a photo editor uses a vertical photo as the featured image, it could be cropped unfavorably without this data. This creates a poor, unoptimized experience for a publisher's readers and looks bad and unprofessional.
It would be beneficial if an editorial user could set the focal point on a gallery's featured image in Anglerfish like they can on the featured image in Ellipsis.
