Ideas for Arc XP

Payment Options: Freeform Dollar Amount Field in Arc Subs

I am writing to propose an idea that could enhance the flexibility and usability of the Arc Subs platform for a wider range of applications: the introduction of a freeform dollar amount field.

Background:

Currently, we are in the process of setting up a scholarship fund and have identified a need for a feature that allows donors to input an amount of their choice. This flexibility is crucial for encouraging donations of varying sizes, catering to the diverse financial capabilities of our userbase.

Proposed Feature:

A freeform dollar amount field would enable users to enter any donation amount they wish, rather than selecting from predefined options. This feature could be an optional setting, allowing administrators to choose between fixed amount options and a freeform field based on their specific needs.

Broader Applications:

  • Enhanced Donor Engagement for Nonprofits and Charities: Nonprofit organizations would benefit by enabling donors to give amounts that resonate with them personally, potentially increasing overall donations.

  • Adaptive Pricing for Products and Services: This feature could allow businesses to adopt a pay-what-you-want model or accept variable payments for services, workshops, seminars, or digital products, enhancing customer engagement and satisfaction.

  • Corporate Fundraising and Sponsorship Campaigns: Companies running fundraising initiatives for community projects could leverage this feature to gather funds more effectively.

  • Event Registrations and Corporate Ticket Sales: For events with suggested prices or donation-based entry, such as conferences or charity galas, a freeform field would streamline the payment process and potentially increase participation and revenue.

Introducing a freeform dollar amount field would not only fulfill a current need for our scholarship fund but also open up new possibilities for user engagement and fundraising across various sectors. It would add a layer of versatility to the platform, aligning with the diverse and evolving needs of its user base.
