Hi there,
I'm seeking an ability to be able to preview a live event stream before it goes live on a site.
Currently, you have to assume you have the right stream selected when building out your live event. After adding all the necessary fields, you publish the live event, and THEN you can click on "Live Preview" to see what viewers are able to see.
The issue is sometimes the wrong stream can be chosen, and then the information on your live event is incorrect and has to be unpublished. There is no way, it appears, to change your stream option in the one dropdown once the live event is published, so a new, unique live event has to then be set up.
It would be great if the "Live Preview" tab near the top could become a "Preview" tab that allows you to view exactly what the encoder/stream is displaying. That tab (along with the Graphics tab) doesn't appear to do anything during the initial setup of the live event.
An even better option is that once you set everything up, the "Save" button could be treated just like that -- a "Save" button. This would be consistent with other parts of Arc, such as Composer in the difference between saving something and publishing it. You can then review everything you've set up, including being able to preview what the stream looks like, before published URLs are generated. The last step would then be "Publish" which makes the actual live event go live on the site and other various platforms.
If this Arc Idea already exists elsewhere on here, please let me know and I can follow/vote on that idea instead.
Thanks!
