Imagine a case where we are populating our OTT application with all of our Livestreams at any given moment for an event, let's say it is a Rodeo and it could be sponsored by an event sponsor. Meanwhile the impeachment trials are happening as well as any number of breaking news.
It would be useful if all the users who are deployed to stream from the Rodeo could select a category, like Rodeo, while selecting their website, so their streams could be easily filtered and distinguished without editor intervention so we could create event pages without blocking others in the field from going live with some breaking news event.
We currently listen to live events going live and ending via our Kinesis stream to populate applications, like our OTT application with all Arc Live Events at any given moment. We are realizing that there is no taxonomy to determine the event on the streams from the Broadcast app, so Breaking News might be mixed in with event or otherwise Entertainment-like content inside of these autogenerated pages.
This feature is one we will be leaning on more and more, especially for events and are excited to use this as a tool for reporters in the field, so having a conflict will likely occur.
Shipped yesterday! We are iterating on this this week with a few UX tweaks to make the experience even better. Thanks for submitting your idea!
