Ideas for Arc XP

Implement an easy way to exclude all traces of a feature from a fully rendered page

It would be nice if there were an easy way to configure a feature such that, from the UI, a user could choose to suppress the feature and as a result, no trace of HTML would be rendered on the page. Right now, the newsroom is interested in doing this by content type.

An additional requirement: if this feature were linked to another page, the choice to suppress it should carry over to the other page. NOTE: We talked about a solution in person that did not meet this requirement. Please do not implement that solution unless it can somehow be made to meet this requirement.

An additional requirement: if this feature were in a chain, either the feature wouldn't even be in the list of features the chain has access to or perhaps there could be three lists: all features, all features to show (if implemented, this should be the list currently available), all suppressed features ... or something like that.

Additional requirement: This should be supported on chains, too.

So, I've talked to the Newsroom, and actually they would *not* want "Exclude from outputType" option to be inherited by linked features. So, I think that idea is a good one. Please proceed!

Woops. Above I said "by content type" .... I meant to say "by output type". Forgive me :)
