Filing on behalf of the Newsroom, and I quote:
Please turn off this feature: When you are editing something in the panes on either side, if you hit CTRL+SHIFT+(left or right arrow key), it will hide/show the left/right control panel. I appreciate the idea, but this interferes with editing.
