Ideas for Arc XP

Extended helper text in custom fields

In some cases for our more complex PageBuilder blocks, we find that it'd be useful to be able to put a few lines of help text for the block in general, such as a note "This is designed for use on the X page". Right now we make a read-only text box and use the "Description" field so editorial users can view it that way, but it'd be more intuitive for our users if we could simply provide a few lines of help text directly inside Custom Fields.

In the attached screenshot you can see how we do it now. It'd be nice to have a label-only field in place of the "READ INSTRUX" custom field.

    Hi Todd,

Apologies for late response. We were re-organizing our workspaces and now cataloging this idea under Developer Experience. This idea makes sense. I can see the use cases for this. We'll put this in the consideration pipeline and update the status once we plan for development. Thank you for submitting this idea.

To clarify, from the UX/UI perspective, all you want is to have a help-text to show up below the field. Is that correct? Similar to how UI frameworks (like bootstrap forms) does for fields, called help text, or info text.
