This is really a request for Author Services, which does not appear to be in the list any more. We use the short bio field in Authors as the tagline for an author at the bottom of an article. We would like the ability to add hyperlinked text in both bio fields. This would be to support Instagram accounts in addition to emails and twitter accounts.

Lynda, we have hyperlink markup in our author service and it renders OK on our author profile pages online. eg We just write in <a href="http://foo.com">bar</a> as part of the text. I'm wondering if this might not be working because of how your front-end team implemented the presentation of the author service API response? Or were you hoping for a WYSIWYG tool in the author service admin?
