We have many writers for whom every new story in Composer is going to have many of the same attributes. It would be convenient if those writers could begin a new story with all of the repetitive stuff pre-filled in.
EDITED TO ADD: Not a universal template that is accessible to everybody. I know those exist, and they're useful. But there is no point in having dozens of writer-specific templates in the system when only that one writer needs to access them.
Example: Let's say I'm a politics writer that only ever writes about breaking news about the Texas Legislature. My template would have:
Byline: Me
Section: /news/politics/
Story Tags: Texas Legislature
Categories | User Workflow, New Functionality |
This is marked as already exists - that is not correct
I think this has been asked for many times - a way to determine "favorite" templates so that each writer can mark their favorite (s) and have it available at least at the top of the list - or only show favorites in a tab that is the default and the user could then display the tab of all templates if they need to use one that is not normally in their favorites list.
@Larry Sorry for not being clear, but no. I know that templates exist, and that's great, but unless I want to create dozens of new templates (one for every writer that wants one), which would create a ton of clutter in the template selection screen, I can't accomplish what I'm getting at.
There is no real point in having a "Britton Peele template" that's accessible to anybody who is not me, for example. It will just get in everybody else's way. As a writer, I want a template that's exclusive to me and only me. (Or, to put it another way, I want to be able to have certain things be pre-filled when I select the "default" template, but those things would be tied directly to my account and no universal defaults for every user.)
Hi Britton - thank you for your idea submission. If I am understanding you correctly, you are hoping to pre-fill certain metadata fields values for a template, and have those pre-filled values populate when the template is used. If so, that feature already exists. Please see video: https://share.getcloudapp.com/04uq4Y8O
