Currently in Composer templates (Compose tab) users can only pre-populate a template with text and a few formatting options.
Please extend use of the content element available available in the Story window, to the Templates, Compose tab, to allow users to pre-populate templates with rich media elements.

Thank you for your note This is not currently on the roadmap but something we're going to keep in mind as we approach further templates enhancements looking ahead to next year.
Following coming Composer 1.58 release, can we get an update regarding this IDEA? Pre-populate templates with featured media settings for instance (by default we would like for instance that a template allows to get image + basic set by default (to avoid some clics).
Can we get an update on this?
