For inline images in composer copy the caption for the image is there to edit or remove. This is not true for link lists so it is impossible to remove the caption for an image. Even in Photo Center, the caption field is a required field so we can't remove it there. This, in addition to the tiny description field (idea already submitted) makes the tool difficult to use.
