For wire services that send numerous revisions of stories it would be helpful to have the ability to block revisions on an individual stories. Disabling the overwrite of the story will allow the newsroom to add local details to the story without fear of them being overwritten when the next revision is sent by the wire service.
Cloning a story is not always ideal as it would result in multiple versions of the story floating around online.
