Current version of Composer: When you add an HTML embed, you need to click on "edit" to open the element, at which point you can add your HTML.
You then click on "update," which closes the element.
You cannot alter the HTML within it without first clicking the "edit" button.
This is an excellent safeguard against accidentally typing something in the element, which would result in causing the HTML to fail.
In Composer 2.0, you can just type in the HTML embed, without first hitting "edit" to open it.
Our fear is that editors or reporters, when working at speed with deadline pressure, might accidentally alter the HTML in one of these elements, rendering it inoperable. And then of course not being able to return it to what it was.
We have a small team of editors who frequently use these embeds, and can confidently fix them should they be accidentally altered. However, the vast majority of our editors/reporters cannot do so, and truthfully will panic if they accidentally alter an embed.
I can see this happening repeatedly, leading to many panicked calls to a very few for fixes.
I would ask that the "edit" safeguard be returned to the HTML embeds. Please.
Thank you very much.
Hi Steven, we've gotten feedback from other customers that they prefer easy access to edit HTML rather than taking an extra step to edit. We'll monitor this if this seems to be an issue as Composer 2.0 is more broadly available. Thank you!
