In Composer 2.0: Hide Left Panel Once User Clicks Into Body of Story

Hi there,

I'm looking to see if we can implement a feature where once a user clicks into the body of a story in Composer 2.0, it automatically hides the left panel.

For users not on large screens (think 13-inch laptops), the left panel with the Planning tab and more can take up significant screen real estate. The user may not realize they can click the "Hide Details" button.

With this implementation, maybe add some sort of pop-out tooltip the first few times this happens to let the user know how to reshow that left panel. Or they could just save and reload the Composer window to see that left panel information again.

Thanks!

    Hi Caytlyn,

I think a keyboard command could also work. Our news teams are used to keyboard commands already with other programs, so it could come in handy here, too. We just have to ensure the command is included in the tooltip or keyboard shortcuts modal.

    Thanks!

Hi Troy! We'll take a look to see how we might be able to implement something like this. On another related note, would a keyboard shortcut for opening/closing the left panel be beneficial to your users at all?
