The black tools palette with white type makes it impossible to see if the highlighted text is bold, italic, or underlined. In Composer1 the tool was shaded to indicate the status but that does not happen in Composer2.
This is particularly difficult in Composer2 because the italic text is so hard to determine - the user wants confirmation that the text is italic without having to save and preview the story to see the italics
