Our editors have noticed that the search and replace function is not as useful in the new version of Composer. They have to clean up code that pops up in NYT stories (stuff like <b> and </b>). They can no longer replace characters in a story with nothing.
They used to be able to highlight the piece of text they wanted to replace, hit CNTRL F and then replace all to eliminate unneeded characters from a story without inserting unwanted spaces. With the new version of Composer, highlighting the characters to replace and hitting CNTRL F does not put the characters they want replaced into the field -- they have to copy and paste the characters. And then they have to replace those characters with "something" like a space (which creates a new problem).
