We use Videos and Galleries as Basic media often foregoing the need to attach images to stories.
For og:image and other external displays, we do the look up against that media to get the requisite image. Inside of the WebSked however, the images do not appear for these articles with these content types.
It would be great to be able to see the featured images in these previews.

Per Troy: There is a related issue with Arc IO/RSS feeds, in which images are not displaying in the feeds when a video is attached to an article. When this happens, the Featured Media is set as “video > basic” and removes “image > basic” as a result.

I know this is a long time coming. We are in the middle of how we might improve Collections across the board so I appreciate having this idea.
