It is possible for multiple users to edit a Collection simultaneously and for users to inadvertently overwrite each other's changes. Currently, there is no way for users to know if there is another person editing the Collection at the same time.
Similar to the new experience in Galleries, it would be helpful to have an indicator to show how many people are active in the Collection. When you hover over the indicator, it will tell you which users are active there and will allow you to communicate with them regarding making edits.

I finally have this under consideration as we plan updates to Collections. I agree that having an indicator, similar to what Galleries now has, is a good way for people to know if someone else is editing a Collection when you are. Hovering over the indicator would give you more information about who that individual is.
What capabilities would you be interested in including if we were to add an indicator like this?

Thanks for following this idea from JoAnn. We are not making updates to Collections at this time, but I do appreciate the need to be able to see if others are editing a Collection. I will include this idea as well as we gather our research for doing future improvements.
