Ideas for Arc XP

WebSked Platform Pitch should honor the URL of the website you are pitching, not the URL of the primary website

When sending a Platform Pitch we expect the URL for the website we are sending the pitch for would be included in the Pitch, not the URL of the of the primary website.

This is causing 404s with our breaking news Email/SMS/Push since the pitch includes the incorrect URL for the website. We are expecting the Pitch to include the correct information for the website that has pitched the content.

Here is the issue:

  1. Site A (primary) creates story and publishes

  2. Site A modifies headline (does NOT regenerate URL as they shouldn't have to)

  3. Site B circulates story to their website; URL for Site B is created off of new headline (as expected)

  4. Site B sends a Platform Pitch for an email/sms/push and the pitch includes the correct Site B website, but the URL of Site A which causes a 404 since that Site A URL was never published on Site B.

In Composer the URLs are defined for each website and they can be different. We are expecting Platform Pitches to honor the URL of the website that was pitched. (see screenshot)

    Hi Sara,

Thanks for taking the time to submit this. Per my note from a few weeks ago, I think what you propose makes sense.

Would you clarify something for me? If the article I am pitching is not circulated to any of the Websites that I select in the Platform dialog, what would you expect to happen? How would you want to be informed of the missing circulation?

    Thanks!
    Stuart
