When a user adds an image into Composer, they have the ability to edit the Caption. It would be very helpful to have the ability to edit the Alt Text field right within Composer as well so the user doesn't have to go back to Photo Center to update it.
Google uses alt text to rank images in Google Search as well as screen readers rely on it for accessibility.

As part of this improvement it would be extremely useful to our workflows if the edited caption in Composer could also fill the ALT Text field - obviously the alt-text field should still be editable on its own.
This could possibly be achieved by having a Caption populates Alt-Text field on/off setting in composer - that can be default on or default off.
To explain: photographs when added to Composer will nearly always have their captions edited on an article-by-article basis however, the original caption associated with the image in photocenter will and SHOULD remain unchanged.
The reason to edit a photo caption in Composer ahead of publish could be a for any number of reasons - space, style, legal, relevancy etc.
If the new alt-text field in Composer could be populated by the finished edited version of the caption it would speed up the workflow as users would not have to edit in two places (composer caption field and composer alt-text field) and ensure improved SEO.
