When we republish articles, the publishing date changes automatically to the new set time – but a human click is still required to update the associated URL via “Regenerate [all]” button in Metadata. This step is also necessary if a new meta title has already been stored in the new version before it is republished. We use this option a lot to refresh our contents for the Google crawler.
Would it be possible to set up a workflow for republishing contents and regenerating URLs automatically – without clicking on “Regenerate [all]”? Maybe a simple checkbox like "Update URL when next scheduled republish goes live"?
Hi Thomas! Thanks for submitting this idea. We don't have immediate plans for this but I think what you're suggesting makes a ton of sense. There are some situations where others do not want to automatically generate new URLS on republish, but this is something we can certainly consider making configureable in the future to get rid of unnecessary steps. Thank you!
