Introducing a feature that allows users to manually set, change, or override a specific URL would provide greater flexibility and control over our story urls and site navigation . This functionality would be particularly useful in scenarios where automatic URL assignments may not align with user preferences or specific operational requirements. By enabling manual URL customization, users can ensure seamless access to preferred endpoints, improve workflow efficiency, and adapt to changing network configurations. Additionally, implementing this feature with proper validation mechanisms would prevent misconfigurations by restricting invalid URL overrides like where the purposed url is already taken.
We currently need this when the initial url was set for a wrong circulation or some other reason and the regenerate is not properly setting the correct one after the the article metadata is corrected. Currently we have an external tool that calls the api to manually set the correct url. Not needing external tools to fix this would be very nice,
