This issue seems to only be on manually uploaded images. The editor types or pastes the photographer's name in the field and then chooses the blue dropdown that contains the name and the words (custom credit) and save the photo. When previewing the article they see the words Custom Credit in the caption of the photo after the photographer name.
Please remove that text so it does not appear in a caption.
I understand that it is something you do to indicate that the photographer was not in Author Service - but really who cares? The photographer for a handout photo is never going to be in our Author Service and this information is not of any use to the person uploading the photo and then causes issues on publication. It has caused us to stop using the photographer field and put everything in the Credit field - which hampers our ability to search for the image in photo center but at least we don't have rogue text in out captions.
Hi Lynda - Sorry for all of the miscommunication that has happened. The fix will be in Sandbox next Wednesday (2/19) with the release of Photo Center 1.45. I believe Karlie has updated you on the ACS ticket as well. I will close this idea in the meantime, and we will make sure to address this through ACS. Thanks!
yes - we reported it in ACS-9904. At first they told me to submit it as an idea. Then they said we were typing in that data. Then they said a fix was delivered to Sandbox. There is no fix there and it's extremely frustrating. It's difficult for users to fix in Featured Media and they don't see it there unless they preview or publish the article and notice it. It's less difficult to fix for in-line photos but it's still tedious and not noticeable until an article is previewed or published. Our senior management is questioning why they see this CUSTOM CREDIT in photo credits and I have to keep explaining that it is a bug that hasn't been fixed yet.
Hi Lynda - I see this as a bug in the support board. We've addressed it there. ACS-9904. If you agree, I will close this idea. Thanks!
Is there any update on this. It's causing a lot of aggravation for our users having to constantly correct the issue by removing the photographer information and putting it in the Credit field - which causes other issues since the Photographer field is what is sent to Methode with the image for pagination so we lose this information on the Methode side.
Because we don't want those words to appear in the caption - it looks ridiculous!
See attached.
Looking into this. Thanks Lynda for the feedback. Can you please provide additional feedback on why the (CUSTOM CREDIT) is causing you issues on publication? Thanks!
is there any movement on this? It is creating havoc for us in seeing the (CUSTOM CREDIT) following the photographer's name live on the web stories.
