Currently we have an issue (despite telling the team numerous times) where people upload massive author images (eg. 6.8 MB) and then we see poor page performance/slow load times as that image is not passed through the resizer.
Could it be that when a user goes to upload an image, they are bounced to PhotoCenter and have to do it there? And then the resizer URL is the one passed back to Author Service?
Or can Author Service just use the resizer?

Thanks, this request is clear. We don't have an near-term plans to revisit how Author Service handles images, but will consider this in our planning consideration.
Seconding this request. An alternate solution could be to limit the upload dimensions (longest side 500px) and/or filesize (50KB).
