Composer Article Creator Information

It would be very important if we could have a record of which journalist wrote every article.

Right now we have information on the Author (the person who signs the article), but sometimes the Composer Creator and the Author reported to our audience might not be the same person.

The Creator information is very important as it helps us track productivity and better understand the workflow of our newsroom.

Understood. We have this information as the first entry in our revision history on a story. Does that sound like the correct field you'd want to be able to search on?

At the Globe, we are not trying to track anything - we just want another field to be able to find a story in composer - especially when the author field has not been entered yet or you don't know the author or the slug - not having wild card searches forces you to try to find the story in some other way and the creator of the story is one that I think a lot of people could use because it's not dependent on a user entering data in a field - it's system data.

The second option: we want to know who worked in each article.

Curious if this is to track "data entry" efficiency (i.e. who is the person with their hands on keyboard typing it in). Or are you trying to separate out the reporting staff who worked on creating article content even if another staff member appears on the byline.
