Immediately after hitting publish on a story, many authors want to look at it on the live site to make sure it's displaying properly and was published correctly (this is a practice we encourage). It would be perfect if there was a button -- perhaps next to the preview button -- you could click on a published story in Ellipsis where you could do this without having to navigate away from the page you are already on.
The other solutions (copying the canonical URL field, finding the story in Websked or finding the story on the live site) add too many steps and make the process more burdensome than it should be.

Thanks, John!
Thanks, John! Confirmed that it does exist (I was erroneously told that it doesn't). Thanks for your help!
I believe you can configure this. There is an article in the Learning Center : /alc/arc-products/ellipsis/user-docs/ellipsis-configuring-access-to-the-live-article-page/
We have this setup at the Boston Globe
