We occasionally want to put stories from our print archives on the site that do not otherwise exist online. In order to properly date these articles, we have to change the display time to when the article originally published, but there is no quick way to do this other than to click the back button on the calendar. For instance, if we wanted to put a story from April 1993 online, we'd have to click the back button 360 times to get to that month. There should be a quicker way to either navigate to past dates, or to type them in.
With the release of Composer 2.0 we made a new date picker component that makes it easier to click back to different decades in time.
Thank you T.J. -- agreed this is a real limitation in the current date-time picker. We're in the process of rebuilding the main editor and my team is exploring new components to use here. We'll ensure this is a capability of the new component.
Seems like the best way to do this would be to create an archive field, as to indicate to users that this is a story from the archive immediately?
