Add Option To Hide Wire/Feed Stories From WebSked Altogether By Default

Hi there,

We're looking for a way to hide the wire/feed stories that display in WebSked by default when visiting the section.

With the recent launch of the 1-Day and 7-Day views on the Planning tab, almost all AP stories across our sites display in here, significantly slowing down the load time of these pages and causing the browser to become unresponsive.

The support team provided recommendations to work around this issue with filters, but it would be great to use the "composer" source for any content created and published, as these are articles editors actually created in the system, versus content from the Associated Press, for example.

This would also help give a more truthful "Stats" screen, since it's also including wire content in the "published stories" count, for example.

This option should be something that is configurable at the group level to not disrupt any current workflows in place by organizations. Our organization should be able to check a box in WebSked Settings (the Company option) that allows us to hide wire/feed stories. Another great one would be to hide video content, too, and just display articles.

Thanks!

    Quick update:

We have implemented the ability to filter by wires, so you should see that on your Calendar now.

We are still working on being able to filter by Source system because it's a bit more complicated. But it is on the roadmap.

    Hi Troy,

    Thanks for posting this.

We have two lines of work queued up to add new filters to the Calendar that allows you to filter by Wire (or not) and by the Source System. We are looking to implement the first filter first, which should help a lot. The second one is a bit more complicated so will be later down the road.

You do have the ability now to filter by content type and just display stories/articles.

As always, feel free to reach out to me or your TAM if you have any other recommendations.

    Thanks!
