SUMMARY
When uploading images via the Gallery interface, the image order is completely scrambled after upload.
Arc Support Centre have said this isn't a bug, and that the order the images load in is the based on the time it finishes uploading, rather than the order the images are selected in or the image file names.
This idea is to add order tracking for image upload to galleries.
CONTEXT
Images are named with a specific naming convention, ending in a number (i.e. FW_1). Images are selected in that order when being picked from the device image finder for the Gallery upload. After the images are uploaded, the order has been scrambled, which requires painstaking re-ordering of the images to the correct order.
This is a huge pain point for the editorial team and causes the simple task of uploading & reordering images in a gallery to often take an hour per gallery.
Hi Natalie, rough timeline will probably be 2024; doubtful the team will fit this in during 2023.
Checking in here to see if there's an update on timelines?
Hi Matias, Any update on timelines here?
Hi Natalie, I have synced with the engineering team and unfortunately this feature won't be ready for May/June this year. I will let you know as soon as we have a timeline for this. Best, Matias
Hello,
The next fashion week season is fast approaching (May/June). This feature would more than halve the time required to use the gallery function to support fashion week imagery. Is there any update on the timing for this?
Hello - just following up on my last comment. Thank you!
Hello!
I see this has been marked as a future consideration, which is great, thank you. Given the importance of this for our team, I was wondering if you could give a rough idea of when this will be pipelined?
Many thanks,
Natalie
