Hi there,
I'm seeking a better way to update multiple Composer templates at once. The current process requires you to go to the Templates tab at the top, find/scroll to the template you want to edit, click the gear icon, make changes and then return to the Templates tab to work on the next template.
It doesn't appear you can open a Composer template into a new tab from that Templates page, which makes having to update multiple templates difficult.
A use case occurs at the end/beginning of a new year, when needing to update the copyright field to reflect the new year. If you have a lot of Composer templates, this can take a long time to do.
It would be great to have a bulk-update option for Composer templates, but for now, I'd like to request the ability to right-click on the gear to open that template in a new tab/window, or Command-click to have it open in a new tab. If this option is currently available via a certain browser, please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi all,
A new year approaches! And naturally I'm back to ask about progress on this Arc Idea from 2021. Will Composer 2.0 be able to help faciliate in this annual task of updating all our templates?
Thanks!
Hi there,
We're getting closer to 2024. The newer Composer templates feature is live. However, we still are unable to open the templates in new tabs for bulk editing.
Can it be programmed so the user can either right-click on the "Edit" button for the template to open in a new tab, or command+click to add this functionality?
Thanks!
Hi Troy, thank you for your note! This is not currently on our roadmap but we're considering further improvements to the templates experience in 2023 so we will keep this in mind.
Hi Jenny,
I'm looking to see if there may be an update on this. With the latest update, I currently do not see this capability. Is this something the Arc team still anticipates rolling out?
Thanks!
Thank you! I appreciate the update.
Hi Troy, thank you for your note. Our team is planning to tackle sizable updates to the templates experience in early 2022 -- we know there are many Ideas submissions around templates, and we will certainly keep this use case in mind as we approach designs!
Hi again,
We're approaching the end of another year. I wanted to comment on this Arc Idea that this is still being sought since we'll need to update multiple Composer templates.
Is there any way this feature can be considered in the next couple months?
Thanks!
Agree with this, though we would also be interested in a properly documented Composer template API endpoint to accomplish similar tasks.
